FIRST AID

When you understand first aid, you'll gain the ability to help those in need. Through our first aid certification classes you'll learn how to respond to specific situations, which will help you care for people in crisis as they wait for medical professionals to arrive. This gives them the best opportunity for a positive outcome – and gives you the opportunity to change someone's life for the better.

What You'll Learn

Designed to help non-medical professionals provide assistance in times of crisis, our courses allow you to gain an understanding of first aid best practices for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Asthma emergencies
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Burns
  • Choking
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • External bleeding
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Heart Attack
  • Poisoning
  • Neck, head and spinal injuries
  • Stroke
  • Seizure

We provide ASHI/Medic First Aid and in addition,  our first aid classes typically cover information on administering CPR and using AEDs – allowing you to become certified in all three (first aid, CPR and AED) in one convenient class.

CPR

When it comes to CPR, it's important to know how to treat both adults and children.   Those responsible for children, the elderly, as well as anyone in a position that requires them to be around the water, live electrical lines or other dangerous activities on a regular basis should consider CPR training.

Regardless of particular job requirements, anyone with a family should learn CPR, because 85% of cardiac arrest occurs at home. If something happens to a loved one, there is nothing worse than not knowing what to do in an emergency situation. At the very least, keep a first aid kit in your home and vehicle and know how to administer basic chest compression while waiting for emergency responders. This could mean the difference between life and death for your child, parent or spouse, or even for yourself.
