Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for two years. This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults and infants. includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending an in-class session. Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the online portion.
Consistent with the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration and practice, case-based emergency response scenarios, and reflection and debriefing activities with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes.
This course will prepare you for the unexpected in a fun, hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine. You'll learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions.
